A bunch of hearts that I had just finished carving for shops that carry my work. They're all laid out to dry after scrubbing them down...I decided to take a few photos.
The reclaimed wood on its own has a great story...to begin with it is called pecky cypress. Holes in the cypress tree are caused by a fungus, giving it an attractive look. The sawn 2" plus thick lumber was used as a fence around the ball field a rural elementary school from the 1920's - 1970's. That is where it picked up that great weathered surface. I inherited a truck load of it and ...well, you know the rest.
